Kaprije
The island Kaprije is a very small island of the Šibenik archipelago area - about 15 km south-west of Šibenik. If you wonder how the island got the name and what does it mean - here are the details.
The name came after from the Mediterranean caper plant! The beautiful buds have been used as spices in the 16th and 17th century.

The south-western part of the island will protect you from all the winds, and naturally shelter - this is the reason why it is so popular amongst all sailing lovers.
Most of the island is unspoiled, and there are no noises from vehicles, you can only hear the waves and the ideal sound of crickets. One part of the island which is settlement is also called Kaprije in the bay Port St. Petra - which happens to be the main and largest bay.
As you lie on your boat or a beach you can feel the gentle mistral wind - which carries away the summer heat, while the natural aromas of olives are spread from the island.
